About 1121 Steam Basmati Rice
The 1121 variety is the benchmark for premium Basmati globally. Grains average 7.8mm before cooking and elongate to over 18mm — among the longest of any rice variety in the world. The steam processing method preserves the natural fragrance compounds that make Basmati rice distinct, delivering a soft, fluffy texture that separates well and holds its shape on the plate.
Steam processing means the paddy is milled directly after husking and polishing, without any parboiling step. This results in a pure white grain with a bright appearance and the full aromatic profile intact. It is the preferred form for everyday premium consumption, restaurant kitchens, retail branding, and food service applications across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Every batch of 1121 Steam Basmati Rice we export is tested in our on-site laboratory before packing is authorised. We check grain length, moisture content, broken percentage, whiteness, and pesticide residue against EU Maximum Residue Limits (MRL).
